Hmaimeh, Wadi Hafir, Kharazah

Hmaimeh

This is a huge Nabatean/Roman/Byzantine/Islamic site which is what we should have reached when we did our 5-day hike from Petra. The GPS points are here.

Wadi Hafir

Wadi Hafir is full of spectacular rock art and we visited in on the way into Wadi Rum from Hmaimeh, just as a storm was brewing to break the heatwave.

The storm didn’t break over us and we only had a light spattering of rain but there was a fantastic lightening show which frightened a group of  young camels who came running to our car for safety and hung out with us for a while until the lightening passed.
