Little Petra to the Neolithic site

This is a short 3 hour ish hike with some quite scary sections in it.  Take some rope!

Walk through the site of Little Petra and climb the steps that lead up to the tea shop.  Then follow the steps down the other side of the mountain.  The route after this is not obvious so here are the GPS points.

One of the scary sections to cross. The crossing itself is easy but if you fall the drop is very long, so we used rope.

There are two ways to get off the mountain and down to the Neolithic site – either you crawl along a Nabatean channel and jump down into the site, or you can take the Via Ferrata.  Both options are exposed.

This tunnel is where you choose which route down you want to take. If you go through the tunnel, you will get to the Nabatean channel. If you walk above and to the right of the tunnel, you’ll find the other route down.

A staircase has been built at the very end of the route. If you look carefully, you can see the iron railing

Once at the bottom of this staircase, you have to scramble back up the hill and either walk the perimeter of the Neolithic site and come in through the official entrance, or duck in under the fence.
